“We’re committed to empowering others”
Leadership Team
At The Peer Practice, lived experience shapes everything we do—from leadership to the way we support others. We don’t just understand mental health challenges in theory—we’ve lived them. That firsthand perspective fosters empathy, authenticity, and trust, creating a space where people feel truly seen and supported.
With lived experience guiding us at every level, we’re committed to empowering others on their journey with real understanding and meaningful connection.

Hi, I’m Kirstie!
I’ve spent over 15 years working in the community services sector, moving through roles from direct support to leading and growing lived experience teams. My passion has always been advocating for lived experience as a force for meaningful change, shaping services with authenticity and connection. With a Bachelor of Psychology, I combine professional knowledge with personal insight, having navigated my own mental health journey and discovering my ADHD identity later in life—something that has deepened my understanding of individual and systemic challenges.
I love organising, coordinating, and planning, whether it's workforce development, strategy, or everyday logistics. I specialise in Lived Experience workforce management and growth, and I’m deeply invested in peer work research, exploring ways to strengthen practice and visibility for our profession.
At home, I share my space with my partner, cat and a greyhound, and when I’m not watching documentaries or learning about history, I’m probably immersed in my latest DIY project—painting walls, furniture, and even stenciling floors in my home, finding the process surprisingly calming.
At the core of everything I do, I value connection—whether through my work or time with loved ones.

Hi, I'm Milly -
I'm part of the Leadership Team at The Peer Practice. While I'm not always involved in direct line work, my role is all about shaping the heart of what we do—creating trauma-aware, compassionate spaces that feel safe and empowering for everyone, including the brilliant humans who work here. With 15 years as a Lived Experience professional, and my own journey through PTSD recovery, I'm deeply committed to embedding lived experience into everything we create. I’m kind of a neuronerd (and proudly neurospicy), so I bring a mix of research obsession and soulful curiosity to how we design programs that feel human and grounded.
My passions? Post-traumatic growth, meaningful conversations, and helping people feel truly seen and heard. I’m endlessly inspired by the power of our stories and how they help us connect, heal and grow. You’ll usually find me dreaming up new ideas over a herbal tea, lost in a book, walking in nature, or knitting something cozy while rewatching Practical Magick for the hundredth time.
Spiritual, creative, and always down for deep chats about life and love—I’m here behind the scenes, making sure our values stay front and centre and our team feels supported to do their best work.
"I define a leader as anyone who takes responsibility for finding the potential in people and processes, and who has the courage to develop that potential.
Daring leaders work to make sure people can be themselves and feel a sense of belonging.”
