About the Role
We are looking for dedicated Peer Support Workers to join our growing team. In this role, you will:
Provide one-on-one and potentially group-based peer support in community settings.
Share your lived experience in a way that fosters hope and resilience.
Offer practical guidance and emotional support to individuals on their recovery journey.
Collaborate with people to achieve a meaningful life step-by-step, as defined by them.
Uphold trauma-informed, recovery-focused, and person-centered principles in your work.
Work within a supportive, inclusive team that values professional growth and wellbeing.
Youβll collaborate closely with The Peer Practice team, including our leadership and other peer roles, ensuring that every participant receives high-quality, values-driven support aligned with recovery-oriented practices.
This is a community-based role, working with people in their homes or other locations within Perth. While we offer support seven days a week, priority will be given to candidates with weekend availability.
What Youβll Be Doing
Providing peer-based support, tailored to each personβs goals and definition of wellbeing.
Helping people access their community, whether that be attending medical appointments, social events, or tackling daily life tasks that contribute to wellbeing.
Sharing your own lived experience to offer hope, encouragement, and insight, in a professional manner.
Working within a team, ensuring collaboration and continuous learning.
Attending team meetings and supervision sessions to support professional growth.

Who Weβre Looking For
Weβre looking for compassionate, driven people who want to make a real differenceβbreaking down stigma, empowering others, and supporting people seek a meaningful life through lived experience:
A personal journey of mental health recovery and the confidence to share it in a way that inspires hope.
Understanding of mental health and AOD recovery principles.
Ideally, a Certificate III in a relevant field or experience in peer support (but this isnβt a requirement).
The ability to model resilience, emotional maturity, and positive coping strategies.
A collaborative approachβworking with a team to provide thoughtful, person-centered support.
A valid driverβs license, reliable vehicle (with comprehensive insurance), and access to secure technology.
An NDIS Worker Screening check (or willingness to obtain one).
A current Provide First Aid certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
Availability for weekend and evening sessions when needed.
