Hi, I’m Scott! I’d describe myself as patient, caring, and comforting. I’m here to walk alongside you as you explore what a good life looks like for you. I bring lived experience, a deep understanding of AuADHD and physical disability, and years of peer support work to my role—along with a psychology degree I’m close to completing!
Outside of work, I love computer games, DnD, reading, and wood carving. I’m currently re-reading the Discworld series by Terry Pratchett—still some of the best feel-good storytelling out there.
Peer work is close to my heart. Community support helped me build the coping skills I use every day, and now I get to offer that same support to others—especially those who identify as LGBTQIA+, neurodivergent, or live alternative lifestyles. I believe recovery isn’t linear, and I’m here to support you through the detours.
My approach blends practical tools, emotional support, and a strong belief in your ability to grow. I use clear boundaries, self-care, and my own support network to stay grounded—and I’ll encourage you to find what works for you too.
Area/s of Focus: Supporting neurodivergent folks, being non-judgemental
Most passionate about: Disability Rights
Fun skill: I enjoy wood carving!

If I had to describe myself in three words, I’d say I’m direct, open, and honest. I value real conversations and believe in saying what I mean, with kindness and respect. I’m passionate about common sense and having the courage to stand up for what I believe is morally good, even when it’s not the easy path.
Outside of work, I’m usually outdoors: hiking, kayaking, camping, or doing something adventurous! I also love spending time with the people I care about and diving into big ideas through philosophy and theology. One of my quirks is that I enjoy playing Devil’s Advocate — I like challenging perspectives and encouraging deeper thinking, especially when it helps people grow.
I’ve worked in a lot of different roles, travelled to many countries, and met people from all walks of life. These experiences (both the fortunate and the not-so-fortunate) have shaped who I am and how I show up in this work. I’ve learned to stay calm in high-stress situations and to read the room, which helps me support others in a grounded and respectful way.
I got into Lived Experience work because I want to help people see that even when life feels dark, there’s still a light at the end of the tunnel. Sometimes it just takes someone walking alongside you to help you find it.
My go-to coffee order is a flat white, though I’ll happily take a long black with full-fat cream milk too. One of my favourite quotes is, “Better damaged than dusty”—a reminder to live fully, even if it means getting a bit roughed up along the way. Lately, I’ve been enjoying We Who Wrestle With God by Jordan Peterson, the series Vikings, and of course, The Lord of the Rings.
In this role, what I hope to bring is simple: myself. I rely on a few key self-care tools to stay well—being aware of my surroundings, reading people and situations, and understanding personal boundaries (mine and others’), including when it’s okay to gently push them.
Area/s of Focus: Diving into big ideas through philosophy and theology.
Most passionate about: Helping people have the courage to self-advocate for themselves and stand up for what is right.
Fun skill: Survival skills - Getting out into the bush and being off-grid for days at a time.

Hey I'm Jaan! I was born in Penang, Malaysia and raised on Christmas Island where I went to primary school. I moved to Perth in 2000 and have been living here ever since.
From my personal lived experiences, I've come to see that mental health directly affects our quality of life just like physical health does. Growing up in a household where mental health issues "weren't a thing", it has been quite eye-opening and enriching not to have to sweep this subject under the rug anymore. Ever since I can remember, I've always been curious about how I can best live my life.
Whether it's through the lens of psychology, philosophy, spirituality or faith, I firmly believe in the importance of examining our lives. Doing so can have positive outcomes on our mental health and character if approached with sincerity.
What is keeping us from true peace, happiness and contentment?
Questions like this are why I continue to learn and try to support others on their own journeys.
Area/s of Focus: Qualified Meditation & Mindfulness Teacher
Most Passionate About: Philosophy, Meditation & Mindfulness

Hi, I'm Rachel! I’m someone who loves to laugh, listen deeply, and connect with others in meaningful ways. Kindness is at the heart of everything I do, and I bring that into my work every day.
Before joining The Peer Practice, I spent 16 years in disability support work and was also an accredited veterinary nurse. Now, I’m incredibly excited to be stepping into Peer Support Work, where I can draw on my own lived experiences with trauma and mental health recovery to walk alongside others on their journey.
Outside of work, I find joy in cooking, painting, walking in nature, and attending GROW groups. These activities help me stay grounded and connected. I’m also a bit of a TV buff – my favourite shows are Baby Reindeer and Frasier.
Working as a Peer Support Worker is important to me because I believe in the power of self-advocacy. I’m here to empower and support others to find their voice, build confidence, and take steps toward their own wellbeing.
Area/s of Focus: Supporting others build their confidence in advocating for themselves.

Hi, I’m Evee! I’d describe myself as compassionate, silly, and empathetic. I love bringing creativity and connection into everything I do. When I’m not supporting others, you’ll probably find me painting, spending time with friends, or working on creative media projects.
My go-to drink? Definitely a chocolate milkshake! I’m passionate about my loved ones and the happiness we share. One quote that really inspires me is:
“I see now that the circumstances of one's birth are irrelevant; it’s what you do with the gift of life that determines who you are.” — Mewtwo (Pokémon: Mewtwo Strikes Back).Recently, I’ve enjoyed watching Knives Out and its sequel Glass Onion—I love a good mystery!
Working in lived experience roles is important to me because I get to help others in a way I would have appreciated while growing up as a young queer person. I bring personal experience managing my own mental health and supporting friends and family, as well as skills I’ve learned through peer work. I also hope to bring familiarity and understanding around gender and transness to this role, creating spaces where people feel seen and supported.
My top self-care tools are boundaries and breaks—they help me stay grounded and bring my best self to the people I support.
If you’d like to work with me, I’d love to connect!
I’m especially passionate about self-love, self-care, and self-efficacy, and I’m a strong ally for the LGBTQIA+ community, First Nations peoples, and Sex Workers. I believe in building a community where everyone is included, heard, and valued. Outside of work, I’m a big foodie—I love cooking, eating, watching food videos, and going to live concerts. One of my favourite things is getting lost in a new city and finding my way back again. I also make time for walking, checking in with how I’m really feeling, and spending time with friends who keep it honest and direct.
If I had to describe myself in three words, I’d say I’m warm, cheeky, and empathetic. My personal motto is: “If it’s meant to be, it’s up to me.” And if you’re looking for a great show, I highly recommend See on Apple TV—it’s a wild mix of action, love, humour, and survival in a futuristic world. I’m here because I know the value of peer support firsthand, and I love helping others realise their true potential and watching them shine.
Area/s of Focus: Supporting others to live their truth
Most passionate about: Helping others feel seen and supported, especially young queer people.
Fun skill: I studied game design!

My own lived experience—especially the tough parts—has shaped me into someone who connects with others in real and meaningful ways. I believe experience is one of the most powerful tools when it comes to supporting people through mental health challenges. I advocate for self-love, especially among women.
Outside work, I’m a creative spirit. I love op shopping, baking, crafting, and making macramé plant hangers. Nature is my refuge—I love to journal and meditate by the beach. I’m re-learning Italian, building Lego masterpieces, and reading whatever catches my curiosity—Mel Robbins’ The Let Them Theory was a recent favourite.

Hi there! I'm Carol, mum to two beautiful grown-up daughters and proud granny to two quirky greyhounds. Helping others brings me a deep sense of joy and purpose—it’s been a guiding force throughout my journey.
Before stepping into peer support, I spent seven fulfilling years volunteering at Ronald McDonald House, offering comfort and care to families going through tough times. For the past six years, I’ve worked as a Peer Support Worker, walking alongside people as they explore and share their experiences with mental health. I believe in the healing power of conversation, connection, and shared understanding.
Originally from the bonnie hills of Scotland, I’ve called Australia home for over 30 years. Starting fresh in a new country gave me insight into the emotional challenges of rebuilding life—creating friendships, fostering connection, and rediscovering balance.
When life gets stressful, meditation is my anchor—it brings peace and clarity. I also love long walks, trying out new recipes, and getting lost in music. Looking ahead, my personal goals are simple yet powerful: stay happy, stay healthy, and cherish quality time with the people I love.
I'm here to offer a listening ear, a kind heart, and support without judgment. Whether you're feeling a little stuck or simply need someone to talk to—I’m ready when you are.
Area/s of Focus: Tools on how to use your breath to stay calm in stressful situations & being a sounding board if you need someone to listen
Most Passionate About: Supporting people to get out of the house & back into life

Hi, I’m Nathalie. I was born in Scotland to Dutch and Indonesian parents, and after a bit of moving around, I’ve been lucky to call Australia home since I was 11. I live and work on Whadjuk Noongar Country, and I respectfully acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of this land. My journey has led me through a variety of Peer Worker roles, and it’s a space I feel deeply connected to. I love being able to walk alongside people—celebrating their wins, holding space through the tough times, and helping them feel safe enough to be honest and real. My own lived experience taught me the power of being supported without judgment, and I strive to offer that same kind of care to others.
