Our one-to-one supports offers connection, understanding, and practical support from people who have walked similar paths. With trained Lived Experience Professionals, you’ll get guidance supported in real-life experience—not just theory.
Whether you’re looking to build resilience, navigate life’s challenges, or take small steps toward positive change, we provide a safe, encouraging space to explore what works for you.
Why Peer Support Matters
Peer support is real connection with someone who’s been there.
A Peer is someone who truly gets it. Our Peer Mentors and Peer Support Workers have firsthand experience with mental health challenges, offering genuine understanding and support without judgment.
You don’t have to figure everything out alone—we’re here to listen, encourage, and help you find what works for you.
Types of Support
Not sure how this kind of support fits your needs? These are some of the most common questions people ask—and why our team is here to help.
At The Peer Practice we have two distinct roles, each with a unique focus—but both rooted in the power of lived experience and meaningful connection.

Your Mentor & Guide Along the Way
Our Peer Mentors are here to walk alongside you, offering encouragement, practical strategies, and a safe space to explore your wellbeing. They are a lot like a coach, they help you define what living a good life is for you, build confidence and develop strategies to move forward - but with a deeper personal connection.
Peer mentoring isn’t about fixing or telling you what to do. It’s about real conversations that help you figure out what’s next, at a pace that feels right for you. Drawing from both personal experience and professional insight, your Peer Mentor is there to:
Guidance, not instructions – A Peer Mentor won’t tell you exactly what to do, but they’ll help you explore options, think things through, and find what works best for you.
Encouragement and motivation – They provide a steady source of support, helping you take steps toward the changes you want to make.
Lived Experience perspective – Unlike a traditional coach, they’ve been through similar challenges, so their guidance comes from a place of understanding and empathy.
Your personal sounding board – Whether you’re navigating big life decisions or small everyday hurdles, your Peer Mentor is there to listen, reflect, and help you move forward

Have you ever caught yourself thinking?:
“I know I want things to be different, but I don’t know what that looks like”
“I feel like I’m just going through the motions - is there a way to find more purpose?”
“I want to be kinder to myself, but I don’t know where to start”?
A Peer Mentor may be the right fit for you if you are seeking support on personal growth and skill-building from someone who has been there themselves. Our Peer Mentors provide support that helps you seek more meaning from life, learn more about important concepts to wellbeing and can help keep yourself accountable, if you need!
Whether you feel you need long or short-term mentoring, we are here for you!

Encouragement & Practical Help
Life can feel overwhelming sometimes, and even small tasks can seem impossible. That’s where our Peer Support Workers step in—offering practical support, encouragement, and Lived Experience insight to help make everyday life more manageable.
Support for daily challenges – Whether it’s getting out of the house, preparing meals, attending appointments, or re-engaging in social activities, we help you take small steps that build momentum.
Guidance without pressure – There’s no fixing or rushing—just real, meaningful support at your own pace.
Collaborative care – If you also have work with a Peer Mentor, they work closely with them, ensuring everything aligns with your wellbeing and personal goals.

Do any of these ring a bell?
Peer Support Work might be the "right fit” if you’ve ever caught yourself thinking:

A Peer Support Worker may be the right fit for you if you are seeking support on building daily routines to feel more in control of life and want to learn these skills from from someone who has been there themselves, therefore able to provide a non-judgfemental working relationship, no matter where you’re starting from!
