About The Peer Practice

Built from experience.

Everything we do is shaped by lived experience.

The Peer Practice was created by people who have navigated life's challenges themselves and understand the difference that genuine connection and support can make.

Our services, training and resources are inspired by what helped us, what we learned along the way, and the support we wish had been available when we needed it most.

We believe everyone deserves to feel heard, understood and empowered to move forward in a way that feels right for them.

What We Believe.

We believe that:

People are experts in their own lives.

Connection is a powerful part of healing and growth.

Lived experience has value and wisdom.

Small steps can lead to meaningful change.

Everyone deserves support free from judgement.

Wellbeing looks different for everyone.

Our Approach.

At The Peer Practice, we use a lived experience approach.

This means the people providing support draw on both professional training and their own personal experiences of navigating challenges, recovery, growth and wellbeing.

Rather than working from a place of "fixing" people, we focus on walking alongside them.

We create spaces where people can:

  • Feel heard and understood

  • Explore what matters most to them

  • Build confidence and self-belief

  • Learn practical strategies

  • Connect with others

  • Move towards their own goals at their own pace

Lived experience means drawing on personal experiences to support, connect with and empower others.

Our team may draw on experiences such as:

  • Mental health challenges and recovery

  • Neurodivergence

  • Alcohol and other drug recovery

  • Trauma

  • Other significant life experiences

While every story is different, shared experience can create connection, understanding and hope.
