Suicide Prevention
Training
Our Suicide Prevention Training has been developed by people with their own lived experience of suicidal thoughts, suicide attempts, recovery, supporting loved ones through suicidal crises, and walking alongside others in times of distress.
We believe that lived experience brings a unique perspective to suicide prevention. Alongside evidence-informed approaches and professional knowledge, our training is grounded in the real experiences, challenges and lessons that can't always be found in textbooks.
Whether you are a support worker, family member, leader, educator, community member, organisation or someone wanting to better understand your own suicidal experiences, this training aims to build confidence, understanding and connection.
Developed by People Who Have Been There.
Talking about suicide can be difficult to talk about.
Many people worry about saying the wrong thing or aren't sure how to help someone who is struggling.
From our own experiences, and speaking to other people who have experienced suicidal distress, it is often that feeling heard, understood and connected can make a significant difference.
Our training combines our own lived experiences with practical learning to help people better understand suicidal thoughts, recognise distress, and feel more confident having supportive conversations.
Our training explores suicide through both lived experience and practical learning, helping participants better understand what suicidal thoughts can feel like, what can contribute to distress, and how supportive conversations can create safety, hope and connection.
By sharing lived experience alongside practical skills, we help people build the confidence to have conversations that matter and support others in a safe, compassionate way.
